Manager, Pharmacy
At NorthBay Health the Pharmacy Manager is responsible for the quality of pharmaceutical services provided, effective utilization of pharmacy personnel and compliance with corporate and hospital policies and procedures and compliance with State and Federal regulations regarding Pharmacy practices. Assists in the development and maintenance of all professional, dispensing and manufacturing policies and procedures and/or activities for the Inpatient Pharmacy. Assists in fiscal planning with departmental budgets.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

- Provides direct supervision of pharmacists, technicians and helpers. Makes regular contact with each staff member and effectively resolves problems.
- Responsible for the professional development of the hospital-based team members.
- Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates and disciplines staff members. Prepares schedules and maintains acceptable and safe productivity levels for area on a 24-hour basis (including stand-by).
- Responsible for meeting regulatory and legal requirements as the State Board of Pharmacy and other regulatory laws or standards including; CDPH, TJC, USP, DEA.
- Responsible for meeting regulatory and legal requirements as the State Board of Pharmacy designated Pharmacist In Charge (PIC).
- Responsible for the supervision of pharmacy services across both sites, NorthBay Medical Center, VacaValley Hospital, Ambulatory Surgery Center, and NorthBay outpatient clinics. Duties include; developing and performing ongoing internal monitoring and quality control or process improvement activities, medication safety, training, and orientation program for staff, development, and implementation of new services and procedures (e.g., intervention documentation, protocols, bar code technology or CPOE, etc.)
- Assists in the development and updating of all departmental policies and procedures. Writes directives concerning procedural changes.
- Oversees departmental inventory purchases and payments per procedure. Meets with vendors when required and represents the hospital at designated Group Purchasing Organization. Oversees formulary operations management and problem solving.
- Assists in strategic and operational planning for the provision of capital, personnel and operations budgets.
- Attends necessary department and hospital meetings.
- Collaborates with the hospital departments on process improvement opportunities.
- Regularly assesses all operational systems, including equipment needs and safety concerns. Coordinates and conducts Pharmacy projects as needed.
- Performs as staff or clinical pharmacist, as needed.
- Maintains effective and ongoing input to Director on status of operations, projects and problems.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D), or BS in pharmacy. A Residency or Masters in Business or Management preferred.
License/Certification: California Board of Pharmacy License required.
Experience: Four years progressively responsible management experience with a minimum of five years of related experience in hospital pharmacy, including sterile compounding processes.
Skills: Demonstrated initiative, follow through and ability to work independently. Demonstrated results oriented management. Demonstrated effective project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Must be able to deal with job-related stress, multiple projects and deadlines. Advanced computer skills (spreadsheets, graphs, tables and reports).

6. Compensation:
- Annual Salary $230,000.00-$250,000.00 based on years of experience
- Incentive Bonus eligible, up to 15% of the annualized salary
