Vice President, System Compliance Officer
At NorthBay Health the Vice President, System Compliance Officer (SCO) is a strategic leader responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a robust compliance program for a small, integrated health system, including hospitals, medical groups, and associated entities. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), this role ensures the organization operates in full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while advancing NorthBay’s mission to improve the well-being of the community through high-quality, accessible care.
The SCO plays a pivotal role in promoting NorthBay’s vision to be the trusted healthcare partner of choice and embedding its values—Nurturing Care, Own It, Respect, Build Trust, and Hardwire Excellence—into every aspect of compliance. The SCO will also build, manage, and mentor a high-performing compliance team to support the organization's ethical and operational goals.

- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in healthcare administration, law, business, or a related field strongly preferred (e.g., JD, MBA, MPH, MHA).
- Licensure/Certification: Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or equivalent certification required.
- Experience: 7–10 years of progressive healthcare compliance, legal, or regulatory experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role. Proven experience in building, leading, and managing a high-performing compliance team. In-depth knowledge of CMS, OIG, HIPAA, Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute, and other healthcare regulations. Experience managing compliance in an integrated health system with hospitals and medical groups is preferred.
- Skills: Exceptional leadership and team-building abilities, with a track record of fostering collaboration and accountability. Expertise in policy development, regulatory analysis, and program implementation with a patient-centered approach. Strategic thinker with the ability to operationalize complex regulatory requirements into actionable initiatives. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in compliance technology solutions and data tools. Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills, supporting NorthBay’s focus on excellence. - Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates the True North values. - Hours of Work: Monday-Friday, 8-5 based on business need. Management exempt.
- Compensation: $280k to $290k based on years of experience doing the duties of the role.
