Clinical Data Analyst II - Medical Group (Temporary, FF, days)

Temporary, FTE: 1; 8AM - 5PM, Monday - Friday; hours may vary slightly depending on IT data project needs.

Job Summary:

The Data Analyst is a healthcare professional responsible for verifying the validity of data gathered from multiple sources. They ensure that processes and protocols are followed, thereby improving the quality and efficiency of care. Responsible for various technologies and the support organizational excellence through analytics, database queries, and observational studies. Leader in designing, developing, collaborating, and maintaining various reports that translate into meaningful information for clinical operations, quality improvement, and other leadership teams. This knowledge of the data is critical for decision making and in aligning with the organizations strategic goals, objectives and initiatives. Other responsibilities include identifying necessary resources, developing plans for data related projects, and determining timelines and milestones.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required in Information Management, Informatics, or healthcare. Master’s Degree preferred. Medical terminology course preferred.

Experience: Three to five years of experience in healthcare analytics required.

Experience in applications such as; Discern Analytics, Business Objects Infoview, Midas, Data Vision, Cerner, Data Warehouse, Vizient CDB, Vigilanz, Tableau, Microsoft Office, Electronic Health Records (Cerner, EPIC, etc.) and report writing.

Licensure/Certifications: Certification in a related field preferred, for example CDHA, CPHQ, etc. Inter-facility driving typically two to three times per week.

Ability to travel between facility and work sites with access to an operating vehicle with at least minimal coverage auto insurance.

Current California driver’s license.

Skills: Proficiency with spreadsheets, relational databases, data warehouses, and application solutions programming is required.

Must demonstrate knowledge of quality improvement databases.

Strong database application skills are required .

Must possess strong analytic problem solving skills, with attention to detail, and have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills is required.

Ability to integrate information from multiple sources.

Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel, and Power Point skills required.

Knowledge of hospital and outpatient operations, informatics, clinical decision support, business concepts and advanced analysis skills are required.

Ability to compile, code, and categorize data.

Maintain medical, financial and legal information confidential.

Ability to juggle multiple priorities and exploring innovative solutions to problems.

Creative thinking, an eye for detail, the ability to work independently and a positive attitude.

Requires a high level of comfort with taking initiative and being accountable for department work and service excellence.
