Clinical Nurse II Operating Room ( Part time , Days)

Part Time, 0.8; Shift hours: 0700-1530 Evening, Weekend and Holiday call rotation required. Call back/Stand-by availability required with 30 minute arrival time

As a Registered Nurse in the Surgery Unit you will be expected to provide safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care to our patients following Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring, the Relationship Based Care, and the NorthBay’s professional nursing practice model. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for all patients assigned to your care. You will also use a therapeutic professional communication style with the patient and their family along with your interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health for the patient. The NorthBay Way principles consisting of Caring, Communication, Collaboration, and Competence are values exhibited daily.

To qualify for this position you need:


  1. Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing.
  2. Nursing degree of BSN level or higher is required. (excludes grandfathered

License and Certification:

  1. Valid, current and unencumbered RN license issued by the State of California.
  2. Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS and ACLS
  3. PALS required within 3 months of hire
  4. Telemetry certification within 3 months of employment 
  5. TNCC certification once in nursing career (must show proof if taken prior to coming to NorthBay Healthcare) or within 12 months of date of hire.
  6. CSPAN, ATCN, and TCAR preferred.
  7. National Certification in PACU or Critical Care nursing preferred

Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

  1. Minimum 2 years (within the past 5 years) acute care (hospital) experience in an acute care hospital operating room required.
  2. Competent in providing skilled registered nursing care to surgery patients
  3. Demonstrates skills in the areas including but not limited to: circulating for various surgical cases, sterile procedures and arrhythmia interpretation. 
  4. Capable of working independently
  5. Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
