Clinical Nurse Supervisor - Emergency Department ( FT nights)
Full Time, 0.9; Shift hours: 1800-0630 Weekend and Holiday rotation required.

At NorthBay Healthcare the Clinical Nurse Supervisor is a transformational leader who functions as the first-line shift supervisor for the unit and has the following responsibilities: 

  1. Has the responsibility, accountability, and the authority to deliver safe, effective, excellent nursing care according to the philosophy and goals/objectives of the organization Patient Care Services Division
  2. Utilizes Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring, Relationship Based Care, and NorthBay’s professional nursing practice model, supports the mission, vision, values and expectation of excellence of the organization 
  3. Responsible for leadership and supervision of direct care staff,  daily operations, leading the team to meet service goals, maintaining and promoting professional development
  4. Delegates care to other health care personnel consistent with their scope of practice, job description, competency
  5. Other duties as assigned 
  6. Works under the supervision of the Clinical Manager 


  1. Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing. 
  2. Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing required (Employees who are grandfathered are exempted).

License and Certification: 

  1. Valid, current and unencumbered RN license by the State of California. 
  2. Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS and ACLS required
  3. CEN, CPEN, or TCRN preferred
  4. National certification in specialty area preferred.
  5. Telemetry certification within 3 months of employment
  6. PALS or ENPC within six months of employment
  7. TNCC or ATCN certification within one year of employment.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills: 

  1. Three years of acute care experience in a hospital Emergency Department required.
  2. Demonstrates competence including but not limited to: arrhythmia Interpretation, advanced patient assessment, advanced airway management and ventilator care.
  3. Capable of working independently. 
  4. Demonstrated leadership abilities. 
  5. Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
  6. Modifies and delivers care that is specific to the special behaviors/needs of the neonate, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient within the scope of service of the Emergency Department
