Maintenance Technician Day Porter

Full Time, FTE: 1; 
Administration Center
Fairfield, CA

Job Summary:

At NorthBay Healthcare the Maintenance Tech Day Porter repairs selected equipment and shell of office buildings, primary care centers, ambulatory surgery center, wellness center and any houses that have been converted to office use. Assists outside contractors and service personnel during construction and repair.  Performs other unforeseen duties as assigned.

Sets up rooms in conference center for scheduled meetings, provides beverages as requested, is knowledgeable about and trains users of the A/V systems, handles routine maintenance of prep kitchen equipment and works with GVAC Receptionist to clarify conference room scheduling.

Is familiar with all systems in the Wellness Center, including the fitness portion of the building. Communicates regularly with fitness center manager to ensure that required records are being kept and that required building maintenance is being met.  Reviews maintenance building required schedules with fitness center management.

                PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AS MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN and DAY PORTER

1.Performs a variety of skilled maintenance tasks including repairs to doors, windows, roofs and other building parts; assists in assembling furniture and other wood and metal structures; installs and maintains master locking systems, keying programs, and logs; repairs electrical components including replacement of ballasts, bulbs, fixtures; tests circuits; clears plumbing clogs and replaces various plumbing components;
2. Performs or co-ordinates emergency repairs to building systems.
3. Performs daily checks and inspections of exterior lighting, grounds and irrigation systems.
4. Assists contractors when access to buildings is needed.
5.  Schedules routine and emergency maintenance of van. (If one is assigned for his/her use).
Maintains various records related to labor, materials and work orders.
As requested by Property Manager and Lead Maintenance Technician. Obtains bids for projects for approval.
Is available for emergency call back and standby duty.
Maintains good record of attendance and punctuality by reporting to work as scheduled, utilizing the Kronos timecard system, and not exceeding departmental limits contained in policy and procedures.
10.  Actively participates in on-going training to maintain, update and add knowledge to her/his personal skill and knowledge inventory.
11. Utilizes computerized work order system when available.
12.  Is responsible for maintenance of conference center furniture and room partitions. 
          Maintains adequate supply of clean linens. 
13. Is familiar with operation of audio/visual equipment (overhead projectors, DVD/VHS player/recorders, retractable screens, microphones, keypads, etc.) and trains users as requested. Notifies Property Manager & Lead Maintenance technician of A/V equipment that needs repair or maintenance.
14. Schedules or provides routine maintenance of equipment in kitchen and prep room (kitchens) including, but not limited to, freezer, refrigerator, ice machine, coffee makers, microwave, autosham, etc.)
15. Provides internal and external clients with exceptional, superior customer service using “The NorthBay Way” as a guide:  collaboration, competence, communication, caring.



Education: 

1. High school graduate preferred.

Licensure: 

1. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License as duties include driving on NorthBay’s behalf. 2. A clean driving record is required evidenced by annual submittal to the Property & Facilities Manager of DMV driving record.

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills: 

1. 2-3 years experience trouble shooting and repairing electro-mechanical systems.
2. Experience in hospitality and healthcare industries helpful.
3. Moving experience required office and project moves.
4. Has basic working knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel computer rograms. 
5. Must know how to conduct internet searches.
6. Familiar with hand and power tools, able to read blueprints.
7. Knowledge of sanitation, safety and infection control procedures.
8. Must be able to communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing. 
9. Ability to work with a variety of individual personalities and ability to adapt to changing conditions. 
10. Must be able to speak fluently, read and write in English.
11. Can maintain confidential information.

Hours of Work:

1. Normally 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Must be flexible to work other hours as business need necessary including some evenings and weekends. May need to be available for emergency call back and standby duty.
