HIM Representative II Release of Information
At NorthBay Health, the Health Information Management Technician II (Release of Information) is responsible for processing all release of information (ROI) requests for medical records and subpoenas in a timely and efficient manner ensuring accuracy and providing customers with the highest quality product and customer service. At all times, must safeguard and protect the patient’s right to privacy by ensuring that only authorized individuals have access to the patient’s medical information and that all release of information are in compliance with HIPPA regulations and hospital policy and procedures. Acts as Custodian of Medical Records on behalf of NorthBay Health Group. Performs HIM Technician I functions as assigned.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Proof of Medical Terminology course completion within the first 3 months of employment.
- Licensure/Certification: None
- Experience: Two years of Hospital Health Information Management experience required. Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to confidentiality, privacy and release of information such as HIPPA, Confidentiality of Medical Information Act and state regulations. Knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent verbal, written and critical thinking skills.
- Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates the True North values. - Hours of Work: Monday - Friday as scheduled.
- Compensation: $32 to $39 per hour based on years of experience doing the duties of the job.
