Occupational Therapist – Orthopedic Hand Therapy Per Diem – Days
- Provides occupational therapy services in inpatient and outpatient settings during assigned shift during department operating hours, including assignment in rotation of weekend and holiday coverage.
- On physician’s referral, evaluates patients, develops specific treatment plans and goals, administers procedures and modalities specific to the learning needs and age of the patient, and plans for discharge utilizing appropriate Occupational Therapy techniques.
- Acts as a case manager for assigned patients.
- Prepares and maintains accurate and current patient records in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Re-evaluates and revises patient’s treatment plan on a regular basis, with approval of physician as necessary.
- Provides patient, family/caregivers with age appropriate instruction regarding therapy procedures and home program, and provides additional instruction as indicated.
- Instructs the patient and family/caregiver in care and use of assistive and adaptive equipment.
- Communicates with rehabilitation team members, family, physicians and third party payers regarding patient progress and program changes as appropriate.
- Attends and/or participates inter/intradepartmental in-services and meetings as required and appropriate.
Compensation:based on years of experience: $59.20-$70.57 Includes 10% differential
- Education: Minimum bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
- Licensure/Certifications: Current California Occupational Therapy license is required. NBCOT Certification is required. CHT, Physical Agent Modalities (PAM ), Advanced Practitioner certification, or Advanced Practitioner certification in Hands preferred. Occupational Therapy license applicant may be considered. Current AHA or equivalent BLS certification and all other annual requirements of System and department. (TB testing, Safety, etc). If working in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, CCS paneling is preferred or must be applied for once eligible.
- Experience: One year experience in acute hospital or outpatient hand clinic preferred, however, will consider new graduates.
- Skills: Good basic clinical skills in occupational therapy evaluation and treatment. Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients in the following age groups: Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric. Knowledge of existing laws and regulations governing the practice of Occupational Therapy
