Physician, Cardiac Electrophysiology (Part Time or Per Diem)
NorthBay Health is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Cardiac Electrophysiologist to join our growing cardiovascular services team in Northern California. Position Summary
The Cardiac Electrophysiologist will be responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of complex cardiac rhythm disorders. This role includes both inpatient and outpatient care, advanced electrophysiology procedures, device implantation and management, and close collaboration with cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, and multidisciplinary care teams.
Schedule
FTE: 0.25 up to 0.5
Schedule: Per Diem or Part time clinic and procedural days
Practice Setting: Hospital-based EP lab, inpatient consults, and outpatient clinic
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate and manage patients with cardiac arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular arrhythmias, syncope, and conduction disorders.

Perform advanced electrophysiology procedures, including but not limited to:
Diagnostic electrophysiology studies
Catheter ablation (atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, SVT, ventricular arrhythmias)
Pacemaker and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) implantation
Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) implantation and management
Device interrogation, programming, and longitudinal follow-up
Provide inpatient consultation services and collaborate with hospitalists, cardiologists, intensivists, and cardiovascular surgeons.
Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and clinical governance activities.
Provide patient and family education regarding diagnosis, procedures, and long-term management.
Supervise and collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers as appropriate.
Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, Joint Commission standards, and state and federal regulations.
Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing medical education to maintain clinical expertise.
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency.
Completion of an ACGME-accredited cardiovascular disease fellowship.
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship.
Board Certification:
Cardiovascular Disease (American Board of Internal Medicine), and
Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
Active and unrestricted California Medical License (or ability to obtain).
Valid California DEA registration.
Eligibility for medical staff privileges at a California acute care hospital.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience practicing in a hospital-based EP program.

Compensation Structure
NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1–5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.
Remote Work Disclosure
NorthBay Health is primarily an onsite organization due to the nature of healthcare. Some roles may allow hybrid or remote work based on business needs.
Remote work is not supported in Washington, Ohio, Wyoming, North Dakota, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or outside of the United States.
