Director Facilities & Hospital Plant Operations
At NorthBay Health, the Director of Hospital Plant Operations, you will oversee the maintenance, utilities distribution, and repair of all buildings, grounds, and facility systems. Your responsibilities encompass managing daily operations, leading facilities maintenance projects, and ensuring compliance with standards such as The Joint Commission and NFPA. You will implement preventative maintenance programs and maintain a survey-ready facility, playing a vital role in creating a safe, efficient, and reliable environment for patients and staff. Budget planning, policy development, and fostering a collaborative culture within your team will also be part of your role. Additionally, you will ensure that all critical infrastructure—electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and more—operates smoothly to support patient-centered care.
The Director will have the opportunity to work closely with various hospital departments, ensuring seamless facility support. Compliance with healthcare building codes, accreditation standards, OSHA regulations, and fire and safety codes will be essential. You will supervise all hospital maintenance projects and oversee work performed by outside vendors and contractors, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

- Education: Ideal candidates will bring a bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience as a hospital plant operations director or above at a minimum of ten (10) years.
- Experience: Minimum of seven (7) years experience in management of planning, design, maintenance and construction of healthcare facilities in California; 10+years preferred.
- Licensure: Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager certification or similar desired but not required.
- Skills: Skilled user of Microsoft and other industry-standard software programs.
- Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates the True North values. - Hours of Work: Exempt position
- Compensation: Salary range is $176,800 - $208K. (Max rate is commensurate of 20+ years Director level experience in field)
