Physician, Occupational Health (Per Diem)
NorthBay Health seeks a Board-Certified, Licensed Physician specializing in Occupational Medicine to join our highly regarded health system in Northern California. Situated between the San Francisco Bay Area, Napa Valley, and Sacramento, which offers the perfect setting for healthy and active living.
The Occupational Health Physician will provide and manage a consistent load of patients, including both pre-employment and post-injury cases, treat related injuries and conditions - musculoskeletal issues, sprains, strains, contusions, laceration, exposures. physicals, stress tests, fitness for duty assessments.

Our Occupational Medicine department plays a key role in delivering preventive care, treatment for work-related injuries, and promoting employee health and wellness across a variety of industries.
Position Overview
- Scheduling needs: Per Diem, Physician to work 1-5 days per week as needed.
- Clinic Schedule: Monday-Friday, Clinic hours, 40 hours a week, 8-hour shifts, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Responsibilities: Focus on providing occupational health services, including worker’s compensation care, preventive health, and injury management
- Average Patient Census: 20 per day, 100 per week (Adults) . Manage a consistent load of patients, including both pre-employment and post-injury cases
- Team Support: Collaborative team of physicians, nurses, and support staff in an interdisciplinary setting
- Work Environment: Outpatient setting, no call responsibilities. Practice offers a supportive and team-oriented environment with a focus on employee health and safety
Key Responsibilities
- Procedures Common and Requirements: physicals and assessments injury care laceration suturing foreign body in eye removal. Any injury triaged to the ED - life threatening, loss of limb, acute cardiac or neurological event.
- Workplace Injury Management: Diagnose and treat work-related injuries and illnesses, including musculoskeletal injuries, respiratory conditions, and workplace exposures
- Health Assessments: Conduct pre-employment physicals, return-to-work assessments, and fitness-for-duty evaluations
- Preventive Care: Provide preventive services, including vaccinations, screenings, and health promotion initiatives
- Collaborative Care: Work with other healthcare providers, case managers, and employers to develop and implement treatment plans
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory requirements for workplace health and safety
- Education: Provide guidance and education to employers and employees regarding workplace health and safety protocols
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with regulations
Qualifications
- Education: MD or DO degree
- Certification: Board-certified in Occupational Medicine, or eligibility to obtain certification
- Licensure: Valid medical license to practice in California
- Experience: Experience in Occupational Medicine or a related field preferred
- Skills: Strong diagnostic, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment

Compensation
- Per diem hourly rate range $175.00 - $195.00
