Clinical Nurse Supervisor - Labor and Delivery (Full Time, Night)
At NorthBay Health, the Clinical Nurse Supervisor is a transformational leader who functions as the first-line shift supervisor for the unit and has the following responsibilities:
- Has the responsibility, accountability, and the authority to deliver safe, effective, excellent nursing care according to the philosophy and goals/objectives of the organization Patient Care Services Division
- Utilizes Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring, Relationship Based Care, and NorthBay’s professional nursing practice model, supports the mission, vision, values and expectation of excellence of the organization
- Responsible for leadership and supervision of direct care staff, daily operations, leading the team to meet service goals, maintaining and promoting professional development
- Delegates care to other health care personnel consistent with their scope of practice, job description, competency
- Other duties as assigned
- Works under the supervision of the Clinical Manager

Education:
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in nursing required (Employees who are grandfathered are exempted).
Licensure and Certification:
- Valid and current RN license by the State of California.
- Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS.
- National certification in specialty area preferred.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Course required within 4 months of hire.
- ACLS within one year of hire.
Experience:
- Three years of acute care experience in area of specialty required.
- One year prior experience in OB specialty area preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
- Demonstrates skills in the following areas including but not limited to: advanced patient assessment specifically labor assessments, vaginal examinations, safe utilization of medications, electronic fetal monitoring interpretation, care of the antepartum patient, newborn assessment during the transition period and surgical skills such as circulating and OB surgical recovery.
- Competent to circulate within 6 months of hire. The Clinical Nurse 1 must be competent to circulate within 12 months of hire.
- Competent to perform OB surgical recovery within 3-6 months of hire depending on previous experience. The Clinical Nurse 1 must be competent to perform OB surgical recovery within 8 months of hire
- 20 hours of breastfeeding education that meets the Baby Friendly/WHO/Unicef curriculum requirements within 3 months of hire (original certificates of completion no further than 2 years of date of hire). The Clinical Nurse 1 must complete 20 hours of breastfeeding education that meets the Baby Friendly/WHO/Unicef curriculum requirements within 9 months of hire.

Compensation:
- Hourly Salary Range Min $84.26 - Max $101.62 (Offered hourly rate based on years of experience)
