Imaging Support Specialist Lead (full-time, days, FF)
Is subject matter expert resource for all Imaging Support Specialist staff. Trains new/existing staff as requested, including front desk tasks, scheduling tasks and new processes. May help supervisor with schedule. Models professional behavior. Assists other PSRs when dealing with patient or billing issues. Obtains billing documentation and authorizations for all patient imaging exams done in the clinic. Interviews the patient or his/her representative to secure accurate demographic and insurance information ensuring the patient’s care is not delayed. Verifies and documents eligibility and benefits for patient’s specific payor. Schedules exams for multiple diagnostic modalities. Organizes and distributes paper flow among facility staff. Inputs all patient demographics into facility information system. Answer multi-line switchboard and route calls accordingly. Inputs updates and/or changes to daily/weekly schedule and patient record. Prepares and processes all court ordered subpoenas and medical records requests. Processes incoming exam reports and prepares items for mailing/faxing. Collects patient co-pays and/or account payments. Maintains knowledge of HIPAA laws/forms and ensures front desk is compliant at all times. Processes all patient requests for viewing/amending PHI, accounting of disclosures, special privacy protections, confidential channel communication and complaints. Exhibits excellent customer service to patients, families and other staff.
1. Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Associates degree preferred.
2. Licensure/Certification: Current AHA or equivalent healthcare provider BLS Certification required.
3. Experience: Four or more years of general clerical experience. Four years of experience in NorthBay SDI and knowledge of HIPAA laws and guidelines. One year of previous training experience required.
4. Skills: Exquisite customer service skills, comprehensive knowledge of payer and managed care requirements, advanced medical terminology, minimum of 35-wpm typing, computer data entry and math skills. Ability to lead training initiatives in the department.
5. Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates the NorthBay Way. 6. Compensation: Hourly Salary Range $28.01 - $34.02 (Offered hourly rate based on years of experience)
