Nuclear Medicine Technologist- NBMC Per Diem
Performs Nuclear Medicine procedures according to the protocols in the procedure manual for the Department of Nuclear Medicine. Performs Quality Control testing on radiation detection equipment. Completes required paperwork for each patient to assure proper billing. Gives each patient a thorough explanation of the procedure being performed. Works closely with Radiation Safety Officer to assure that Title 17 and Title 10 are being followed. Active participation on the Radiation safety committee. Performs other duties as required.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES
- Performs Nuclear Medicine examinations in accordance with protocols in the procedure manual for the Department of Nuclear Medicine.
- Assists and instructs patients prior and during examinations.
- Performs each study in a manner that meets required quality standards as defined in the Quality Assurance Plan for Nuclear Medicine.
- Responsible for patient safety and well being during examinations.
- Responsible for inspecting and cleaning equipment prior to use.
- Reports to the Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor all equipment failures and/or malfunctions.
- Reports all patient complaints, discrepancies and drug reactions according to QA policies.
- Is responsible for processing and handling of images and paper work.
- Participates in the continuing education of hospital staff, visitors and patients.
- Takes emergency stand-by as assigned by Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist and/or Director of Diagnostic Imaging.
- Evaluates Radiation Safety Policies for the Diagnostic Imaging Department
- Assists Radiation Safety Officer with compliance of Title 17 and Title 10.
Education: Graduate of an AMA approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
Experience: Two years of full-time employment as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
Licensure/Certifications: State of California Certified Technologist, Nuclear Medicine and AHA or equivalent BLS Certification.
Skills: Computer experience. Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skill in providing appropriate care for patients in the following age groups: Geriatric, Adult, Young Adult, Pediatric and Neonatal. 4

Compensation: Based on Years of Experience: $70.38- 82.58
NOC shift- $8.75 per hour
Evening $5.58 per hour
Weekend End $1.40 per hour
