Respiratory Care Practitioner II-NBMC (Per Diem, Variable)
At NorthBay Health the Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) has the responsibility, accountability, and the authority to deliver safe, effective, quality respiratory care according to the philosophy and goals/objectives, policies, procedures, guidelines and objectives of Respiratory Care Services. The RCP, utilizing the Relationship Based Care Model and the four C’s of the NorthBay Way assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for all patients assigned to his/her care. The RCP makes determinations regarding the progress of the patient toward goals and utilizes a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health. Care is provided according to the specific physiologic, developmental and psychosocial needs of the patient. Supports the mission, vision, values and expectations of excellence of the organization.
Education:
- Graduate of an approved CoARC RCP Program.
Licensure and Certifications:
- Current Respiratory Care Practitioner License by the state of California
- CRT required. RRT required if hired after July 2017
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certification required
Experience:
- A minimum of 6 months post graduate acute care as an RCP
- Pediatric/neonatal experience preferred
Other:
- Respiratory care services shall be provided by RCPs who are licensed by the State of California and who have additional training and experience in neonatal respiratory care. Additional training in neonatal respiratory care shall be demonstrated by the following: (1) Completion of a formal neonatal respiratory therapy course at an approved school of respiratory therapy that includes didactic and clinical course work; or (2) Completion of a minimum of 20 hours of didactic and four weeks of precepted neonatal clinical experience in a hospital-based course at a facility with a NICU equivalent to a Regional or Community NICU.
- All RCPs in the Patient Care Services Department are required to wear Navy Blue colored scrubs per the professional appearance policy.
Compensation:
- Hourly Salary Range Min $65.08 - Max $79.07 (Offered hourly rate based on years of experience)
- 10% per diem differential included in salary range
- Plus, Generous Shift Differentials

Compensation Structure
NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1–5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.

NorthBay Health is primarily an onsite organization due to the nature of healthcare. Some roles may allow hybrid or remote work based on business needs.
Remote work is not supported in Washington, Ohio, Wyoming, North Dakota, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or outside of the United States.
