Clinical Dietitian - Outpatient (Part Time, Days)

NorthBay Health Vacaville, CA (Onsite) Full-Time

At NorthBay Health The Clinical Dietitian  will support the Intensive Cardiac Rehab program and is responsible for and has the authority to deliver nutrition care according to the philosophy, policies, and goals/objectives of NorthBay Health. The Clinical Dietitian assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nutritional processes for individual patient care. The Clinical Dietitian makes determinations regarding the progress of the patient toward nutrition goals and utilizes a professional relationship with the patient and family to facilitate those goals. The Clinical Dietitian modifies and delivers care/education specific to the behaviors/needs of the pediatric, adult, and geriatric patient which may include individual nutrition counseling or group classes. 

The Clinical Dietitian that will be working in the Center for Women’s Health Clinic requires the additional certification: Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES). Has additional requirements to provide specific care in this area.

1.       Education:  B.S. degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics with completion of one year internship or equivalent accreditation program.

2.       Licensure:  Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration required. Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist preferred but required if working in Center for Women’s Health; California Children Services (CCS) paneled status preferred; Board Certified Specialist in one or more of the following areas preferred: Oncology, Gerontological Nutrition, Obesity & Weight Management, Pediatrics.

3.       Experience:  At least one-year experience in outpatient nutrition preferred.

4.       Skills: Communication, behavioral skills/techniques used in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) for eating behavior modification counseling, motivational interviewing (MI), Electronic documentation and assessment skills. Organization, time management skills, and ability to analyze data; presentation and teaching skills. 

5.       Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent communica­tion and interpersonal skills in dealing with the public, co-workers, patients, and families. 
  • Ability to remain flexible and positive within a rapidly changing patient care environment. 
  • Must meet high customer service expectations and demonstrate the NorthBay Way with all staff, patients, visitors, physicians, volunteers, and contractors. 

6.   Compensation:  $ 46.01   to $55.76    based on years of experience.
